After wearing dentures for a number of years, the bone of the jaw resorbs and the gums shrink, making the dentures loose. Denture movement during eating and talking can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Simply relining the dentures or using denture adhesives provide a temporary solution, however, the gum shrinkage does not stop.
